When it comes to buying things online nowadays, all it takes is a simple Google search to find countless websites claiming to be the “best value,” “fastest shipping,” or “most professional.”
Unfortunately, though, most are selling the same old crap that every other website has, and most of it can be found much cheaper if you direct to the source *cough* China *cough*.
So, how do you weed out the copycats from the real deal? That’s a question that cock cage website Lock the Cock has been trying to answer for the last few years.

What is Lock the Cock?
Established by a small team in 2017, Lock the Cock is a male chastity-focused website that has steadily grown to become one of the more prominent smaller retailers in the online space.
While not as popular as websites like House of Denial or Lovehoney, many chastity enthusiasts around the world will know the name or even have bought a cage from them at some point.
While we’re going to be focused mainly on the products in this piece, it’s important to note that Lock the Cock aims to provide the full chastity experience to its customers.
They have plenty of content to guide new slaves through the process of getting their first cage, extra fetishes for the kinksters to explore, and an active social media presence that can fill the gap a little for men without their own Mistresses.
But onto the cages…
The Problem With Sex Toys
The real problem with ordering things online, is you don’t really know where they’re coming from, or how good they’ll be.
Spend some time browsing on Amazon and you’ll quickly see what we mean. There’s tons of products being sold by companies with nonsense names, and most of them are virtually identical.
In recent years, this problem has started to permeate the sex industry too. Countless dildos, vibrators, and chastity devices appear on all these different websites, looking exactly the same as each other but claiming to be different products.
This problem isn’t just about the quality or price of the product either. By the nature of the product, most sex toys or sexual devices are going to be getting up close and personal with some of your intimate body parts.
As many bloggers have demonstrated, if these are made with subpar materials, they can actually turn out to be harmful to your body (especially if they use phthalates).
That’s why finding a reliable retailer you know stocks quality products is more important than ever.
Lock the Cock: The Early Failures
“When we were just starting out, we didn’t know just how hard it would be to source good products. We’d all bought and used cages of our own in the past and naively thought we’d just be able to find a supplier and start selling!”
We spoke to Lock the Cock’s stock manager Andrea Lyons about some of their early years, and she is all too familiar with the issues discussed above.
“It didn’t seem to matter which supplier we used; when the products arrived, they just weren’t up to the standard we were expecting. Imperfections, broken parts, and, in some cases, even the wrong products arrived. As a small business, though, we were forced to make the best of it and salvage what we could, but it often led to some less than happy customers.”
“When the pandemic hit, things got even worse. Everyone was scrabbling to get whatever they could deliver, and when there were issues, it was much harder to do anything about them. After waiting for months for an order, waiting even more months to send it back and get it fixed was a complete nightmare. We even had a load fall off a lorry at one point!”
Despite the setbacks, the company kept going, but not always to satisfied customers. Early reviews of their products are less than favorable, with many customers identifying issues with the quality control of the products. This led to a new mission after the pandemic ended.
A Quality Cage for Every Slave: The Lock the Cock Mission
“Even though things weren’t perfect during the pandemic period, we didn’t want to give up. We’d all been into chastity for years and wanted to share the thing that we loved with the world. But we knew something had to change…”
As supply chains returned to normal, Lock the Cock had a new mission: Find the right manufacturers to deliver safe, high-quality products to their customers and have enough choice that any enthusiast could find the cage they’ve always wanted.
“I’d definitely say working with some of the less reliable suppliers has helped us in the long run. Seeing it yourself helps to identify some of the red flags during the negotiating process. Thanks to our new mission to focus on quality over quantity, we’ve been able to make contact with several new suppliers and offer a range of products that we could only dream of a few years ago.”
While there are still a few thorns in the range of Lock the Cock products, you can definitely see the renewed effort to get things right. With the launch of their “Lock the Cock Premium” range of products, they’ve even started to move into the higher-end range of chastity products.
With so many websites aiming to just make a quick buck from selling whatever they can to people, it’s refreshing to see Lock the Cock’s mission begins to bear results, and as a chastity enthusiast myself, I can only hope they continue making strides forward, and other companies follow their example.
